My favorite scripture - Chocolate Glazed Life

My favorite scripture

The last couple months in our life has been a whirl wind. We decided in October to put our house on the market, which resulted in a lot of chaos as we sorted through our house to get in market ready and than moved a few days before Christmas. Now our buyers have been having issues getting their loan to go through in a timely fashion so here we still sit waiting for the news that we can finally close and begin to move forward with our plans to build. We are quite a few dollars behind where we planned to be and a few grey hairs ahead already, but we trust that it will all be worth it in the end! I have found that I have a very hard time getting my creative writing juices flowing when my life feels kind of in limbo, and I am really missing my blogging time! I know for sure I have plenty to tell about the adventures of downsizing to a small little apartment with 3 kids 4 and under, and I hope someday I can put together my jumbled thoughts enough to do so. For now I am just gonna try to keep at least going on my weekly Gratitude challenge just to keep in the writing mode!

The Topic this week is Scripture. I have to admit that in the last couple years my time spent in the word is much more sparse than it used to be as I have a way of letting life getting in the way. But it still amazes me how much the word is such a living breathing thing, who comes into our minds and hearts right at the moments we need it.  We recently studied Romans in a bible study I am a part of (albeit not as faithful as I should be) and all of the book is my favorite,  but there is a few places that have really spoke to me in the last couple years.

All of Romans chapter 5 is just so incredible but the first  few verses are some I have really clung to through the rough patches in my life. I am not exactly throwing parties to celebrate the hardships,  but I can really see how true this is. That God allows us to be shaped and to grow through those times that are the hardest and that in all of that he gives us the glorious gift of hope. I just cannot imagine going through life without that love that has been poured into our hearts!

Romans 5  – Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we  rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
And it looks like my blogging timer as expired, my kids are all going boinkers and my husband is looking a little less than happy with me. Could be that it is 8 pm and we have yet to have a real dinner, Whoops…time to go! But before I do, What are you favorite verses for the season of life you find yourself in?
